I’ve tried every version of the group name possible and still end up with Group Added. Results not set. Please enter a correct group urlname.
The group I’m trying to add is http://www.meetup.com/Rocklin-Endurance-Sports/
Can anyone provide some insight?April 15, 2015 at 1:19 pm #422
Are you able to add other groups, or are you unable to add groups at all?May 15, 2015 at 3:40 am #469
same problem here.
I’ve uninstalled and installed the plugin again. every time I try to add the group I get the same error.
thanksMay 15, 2015 at 12:15 pm #470
Is this the case for any group or just the one? Simply as a test you should try adding a different group.

only saw your reply. Unfortunately it doesn’t work for any groups. I’ve tried a few…

I would recommend trying to reset your Meetup API key. And submit the new API key in the WP Meetup Plugin on the debug page. If this is still not working, the next step would be creating a temporary admin account and sending the login info to me at email@example.com. Let me know what you find.

I’m having this same problem. the group wont add and I’m getting that same error. The meetup group I’m trying to add is:

I didn’t receive your email. Can you verify that you sent the login info to firstname.lastname@example.org?

Same problem here.
Just reset my Meetup.com API key and entered the new one in your plugin – to no avail. Still get the above mentioned error message. 😒
Also, I can’t find ANY documentation for the plugin. What exactly is the group URL? In my case I used this: http://www.meetup.com/de/OKLab-Bonn/January 4, 2016 at 8:32 am #743
Try just the group name without the meetup url: enter OKLab-Bonn/ or de/OKLab-BonnJanuary 4, 2016 at 4:37 pm #744
Can someone show me what the code should look like? I am having the exact same issue where it won’t accept my short code for my group. This is my MeetUp group: http://www.meetup.com/Austin-Permaculture-Guild/
Here is what my short code looks like:
[meetup-calendar past=”1″ future=”4″ group=”Austin-Permaculture-Guild/” width=”one”]
What should this part of the short code look like for my group URL?
Can any of you provide examples of you correct shortcode and MeetUp group URL?
Thanks everyone!January 4, 2016 at 6:31 pm #746
“Austin-Permaculture-Guild” should do the trick, simply remove the backslash at the end. All that is required for the group url is the slug specific to the group. Given the other parameters in your shortcode, the target would be
[meetup-calendar past=”1″ future=”4″ group=”Austin-Permaculture-Guild” width=”one”]
Let me know if this does the trick.

Thank you Charlie for the feedback but I have already tried that and it is still not working. How strange! This is the exact short code copied and pasted from my wordpress page.
[meetup-calendar past=”1″ future=”4″ group=”group_Austin-Permaculture-Guild” width=”one”]
I don’t know what to do from here. Perhaps I should contact Nuanced Media. Although their support costs $ but this problem seems to be a glitch in their coding somehow. Anyway, thanks again for your help.

‘group_’ is not necessary in the group url slug. Notice on the meetup page (pictured here: http://puu.sh/mmYNk/23919dc261.png) the url slug for the group (pictured here: http://puu.sh/mmYNk/23919dc261.png) is simply ‘Austin-Parmaculture-Guild’, that is all that you want for the group parameter in the shortcode. This is also all that is displayed in the group_url box on the groups tab of the WP Meetup dashboard.
Also, I work at Nuanced Media and while I was not the Author on this plugin, I have been primary support and development on this plugin for quite some time. If you would like, you can make me a temporary admin account on your WP build, send the credentials to email@example.com, and I’ll take a look. I have recreated you exact shortcode request on my localhost, joining the Austin Permaculture Meetup to do so, and I have it working just fine. I’d be happy to resolve this for you.

I have the same problem here, my group url slug is “Sacred-Heart-Awakening-UK”, I have reset the API as well. I still cannot add the group. If I use the shortcode in a widget, I get an error “improper group used in shortcode”
Please advise, thank you,
